Yuletide Reveals

Turns out my beautiful Robot series gift, Sonata for Robopsychologist, was written by [archiveofourown.org profile] lirin! I'll be keeping an eye out for hir stuff.

As for what I wrote, well, I drabbled in Yoko Tsuno fic! Layers is the first English-language fic in the fandom that's on AO3. I wrote it for [archiveofourown.org profile] xenakis, and I feel I fulfilled her prompt rather well.

Yuletide

What with application forms and all that, I had totally forgotten today was Yuletide Fic Reveal day! Then, I read [personal profile] philomytha 's post on her gift, and I went, "oh!"

And, dear readers, that is how I received this gem:

Sonata for Robopsychologist (Robot series - Isaac Asimov)
G, gen
"A robot has been accused of breaking the First Law; Dr. Calvin is called in to investigate."

I am squeeing very, very hard! The Anon managed to replicate Asimovean style well; Susan Calvin sees the reason almost immediately, but we're left to guess. And it all made sense!

I'm a very happy penguin.

The Definitive Guide to Finishing One's Yuletide Fic Ahead of Time

  1. Get something more important to do (thesis, schoolwork, etc)
  2. Procrastinate
  3. Feel guilt over not doing Important Thing
  4. Write fic / clean room / finish other work in an effort to keep guilt at bay
  5. Finished fic!
Next step: proofreading!
(After the reveals, I might publish a short post on the writing process. The fic was something of a joy to write – both literally and ironically.)
