SWTOR: Jedi Knight pt 4 (Ch 3)
Chapter 3, without Directive 7 or Ilum: 1d 22h 14min less 1d 9h 19min, so 13 hours. I did skip Corellia's planetary questline, though. I got all the achievement I meant to get, save for getting to level 75 (still at 60) and 1k kills with Scourge (somewhere in the 520 range). A bit longer than Chapter 2 (11h), but yeah, of the 46-hour playtime in total, almost half (22h) went to Chapter 1. Based on vague remarks from other people about other class stories, I think this is consistent for all classes and maybe bit of a pacing flub, idk.
Belsavis: Imperial side I got told about the Rakata origin right at the start, but here it was a mystery to be uncovered, which, well, oops for being spoiled. I also really get why people talk about KotFE being written for the Jedi Knight – ch 3 is basically "prevent the Emperor from pulling a Ziost on these planets" and, yeah. The superweapon of the planet plot fit Belsavis and its hidden past well. The Republic's entire operation was super skeevy – second- and third-generation prisoners? Someone give the inmates some contraceptives, wtf. And the testing of how good various species are at murdering each other... Well, Kurebir put a stop to it all. :P The suicide cultists from the class plot were appropriately creepy.

Voss: The Republic planet questline was surprisingly distinct from the Imperial one, for all that they were about the same thing. I, of course, sent the failed Voss mystics off to Tython to join the Jedi, and told the Voss the truth about the Gormak, because that is what a Jedi does! (Scourge was unamused. For a guy who feels nothing, he is hilariously disapproving of my choices.) The class questline was I guess a pretty good depiction of just how much the Voss do according to the mystics' visions. It was interesting! Also there was a nice spot in The Old Paths to farm for kills with a companion.

Spirit World trials round 2: Midwan said what she thought the hosts wanted to hear. Kurebir was a Jedi through and through.
Corellia: Okay, so I'd significantly underestimated the time it'd take me to complete the story, and basically I'd done half of Belsavis and all of Voss already that same day so I was tired and decided to skip the planetary storyline. I think I'll return there at some point to get some levels + kills with Scourge. As for the class storyline, well, there's a holomessage thing on my ship I discovered that had two messages from Bengel Morr (my master's former padawan who turned to the dark side) stored on it; I was a bit disappointed when a third one didn't materialize. But then! But then, I went to Corellia, and one of the class quests is recovering a bunch of Jedi from various places. And one of them is Bengel! There's also someone I apparently saved on Tython, Lord Praven the ex-Sith, and Bela Kiwiiks, Kira's original master! It's basically one giant reunion fest, especially when the Mon Cala general turns up as well. (Scourge and Praven had a hilarious little conversation over how Praven was playing at being a Jedi and how Scourge too would totes join the Jedi. A+, would recommend running Scourge for that.)

I also appreciated how our friends from the assault on the Emperor's base were mind controlled into being bosses. There's a certain symmetry to it? And you get to redeem your mind controlled friends! Tol Braga, end boss of Corellia, was poignant, as he'd already broken through the mind control but was so crushed by his failure to redeem the Emperor that he latched on to cleansing the galaxy through destruction to give his life meaning. Anyway, I told him to go back to Tython, to the great consternation of Scourge.

I crafted myself a coat that was less of a clipping nightmare but had silly shoulder pads worthy of a Sith Lord.
End boss: I got to go to Dromund Kaas! Only Kaas City and the Dark Temple (Approach), but that planet is infinitely superior to Coruscant. And due to plot reasons, I ran it with T7-01. But really, would I want to run it with anyone else? This is the droid who has been chipper and eager by my side the whole time, ready to pew pew at my enemies and ask for a lightsaber upgrade. I love him. He's great. I am very glad he got his medal!

It sort of bothers me how all the cinematic bits only ever contain one lightsaber when Kurebir wields two, but this is a genuinely nice shot.
And because it's not like I can just return to Dromund Kaas all willy-nilly...

Dance party!
In general, I see why people call the Knight's storyline KOTOR 3 – it even ends with you and your team getting medals pinned to you, like in KOTOR! That said, it feels a bit ... okay, maybe not cliché, but like I already knew all the twists. A bit overly familiar? Not as engaging as the Sith Inquisitor's storyline, not just for lack of video game archaeology. It also feels like it had more developer resources applied to it, as the interim visit spaces are space stations and planets custom-built for the job, rather than an extra room on Korriban.

Upcoming: post on Iokath + the Traitor arc, for Midwan. Getting Kurebir up to level 75, either through Makeb or the Shadow of Revan stuff. Or I guess I could do Oricon?
