SWTOR: Iokath + Traitor flashpoints

Iokath is the thing that happens after Knights of the Eternal Throne. I'm almost caught up with the present! (Well, I'm at May 2018.) Just Ossus and Onslaught (Onderon + Mek-Sha) to go! Screenshot album of Midwan Asp, updates as I go.

Iokath: Everyone gets sent to take over a superweapon on Iokath! I appreciated the chance to actually side with the Empire and meet up with Acina, though I really wish I'd have been able to rejoin the Empire properly instead of this interplanetary politics version. They also didn't go with the best bits of Iokath's scenery and the plot was ... short.

The superweapon deactivation requires sitting on a throne. Theron suggested I start a collection.

Crisis on Umbara: I'd accidentally spoiled myself on the traitor's identity (trying to figure out what the game would default to for KotFE/KotET if I skipped past them straight to Iokath/Ossus, of all things), so it didn't really hit as hard as it would have, but: the scenery was nice once we got off the train, and I liked the bossfights. The non-bosses were a bit undertuned and died sooner than was convenient for my character with her cast times. Then we got the actual betrayal speech that boiled down to "I realized you were evil!" and ... honey. I'm a card-carrying Dark Lord of the Sith. How dumb could you have been to miss it? The dialogue choices also had a larger than average difference between what was on the dialogue wheel and what actually came out, though mostly they still fit my Sithquisitor.

A Traitor Among the Chiss: This was a nice romp through some very pretty scenery with slightly better-tuned enemies and a little bit of a puzzle with the lasers! I approve. The bossfights were decent, too, though I can see how a melee character might be annoyed by one. Getting to participate in Chiss politics by taking out someone the Chiss wanted dead in a face-saving way was satisfying as well. Also we got blink-and-you'll-miss-it confirmation the traitor was actually a double agent.

The Nathema Conspiracy: We got to return to Nathema! It's been re-greening now that Valkorion's dead, but it's still beautiful. The traitor went double agent to get an in on some genocide cultists who worship Zildrog, whom Valkorion/Vitiate/Tenebrae used to wipe out the life on Nathema in the first place. End result: the Eternal Fleet gets destroyed by Zildrog! (Who is actually the Gravestone ship we picked up in KotFE.) Then Zildrog gets destroyed. There was a lot of customization here – Khem Val turned up! – and in general, this was a good flashpoint. I chose to let the traitor live and return to my service, since, well, the whole betrayal thing had to look convincing to get an in with the Heralds of Zildrog and the apocalypse did end up averted. Midwan Asp may be a Sith Lord, but she's a pragmatist at heart.

It's a bit greener later on, but I still love it. Stronghold when?

All in all, this was a nice chunk of story, especially since it eliminated the Eternal Fleet and the Alliance BS. Hopefully we can get back to Star Wars now.
