SWTOR: Sith Warrior Chapter 3
*waves in heat wave*
Phos'kara screencap album
We were last left off with Phos'kara being appointed the Emperor's Wrath while Baras claimed to be the Emperor's Voice in a power play to take over the Dark Council or something. Chapter 3 is the Wrath dismantling Baras's plots and power base and taking down Baras.
Planet the first is Belsavis! Baras wants to free his sister from the ancient Rakata prison turned Republic prison. We, of course, want to stop it. Cue a jaunt into Belsavis's depths, killing off Baras's assassins/convincing them to quit, and dealing with Baras's sister – except that the only person who knows where the assassins and sister are is Master Timmns, a Jedi Master who was Nomen Karr's previous padawan before Jaesa. For maximum awkward, I of course ran Jaesa as my companion here, and kindly asked how Master Karr was doing after his fall to the Dark Side and shipment to Tython. (As well as can be under the circumstances, apparently.) Then we had a very awkward cooperation where Timmns was very passive-aggressive and we locked Baras's sister right back up. Due to engagement in the fandom, I'd osmosed Timmns's existence, but not how passive-aggressive he was, and I'd have thought he'd have tried to redeem us/bring us to the light, but then again I was a solid Light IV and maybe that's DS only. It was nice to cooperate with a Jedi again, especially one that had little bits of interaction with Jaesa, though!

Trying to Force push Timmns's original locked room's door open.
Planet the second was Voss. Now, while Belsavis was improved by the graphics upgrade, and continues to be great, Voss ... didn't really get that much better, and is sort of blander the more I play? I think I agree with the person on the reddit who said Voss is pretty blatantly missing a "side with the Gormak" option.
Anyway! The actual reason we're there is that the Emperor took on a Voss mystic as his Voice. Then he fucked up and got his flesh vessel bound to a singular room on Voss in the Nightmare Lands. Oops. We got sent to kill him/his flesh vessel! It was sort of darkly hilarious to get to kill our new master, and a bit of a trip to mindfuckville. Also the implication that the Vitiate the Knight kills was only the Emperor('s Voice), for, like, a month tops was supremely, extremely, hilarious. The warning the Voss gave about how someone was going to betray us was nice, and I sort of regret I was spoiled for the identity of the traitor.

Then came the plot bit: convince these soldiers on Hoth to go to Corellia to do something actually useful and side with Vowrawn (whose name isn't pronounced how I'd pronounce Vowrawn at all and consequently I want to spell it Vowron always) in taking Corellia against Baras's kill-Vowrawn power plays. After that, Quinn told us that to pass the blockade we needed to loot a passcard from a ship – except that this was all a ruse for Quinn to get us alone so he could assassinate us on Baras's behalf. Phos'kara spent approximately 5 seconds deleting his programmed droid assassins and defeating him, then told him he'd just have to make it up to her privately and probably tossed him over her shoulder or something. (The companion conversation immediately after this was hilarious in context, as it was basically him going "I'm done denying myself! I want to throw myself at you!" um okay Quinn.)
Planet the last: Corellia. We got sent here to rendezvous with Vowrawn and help him take over/eliminate Baras's power base, but he thought all the stuff with Baras trying to kill us was just a ruse and it took us defending him from an actual assassin sent by Baras for him to believe it. Not sure I like Vowrawn – he's a bit ... idk, fawning? – but, hey. One of the assassins was a total Phos'kara fanboy, so it was sad we had to kill him, but them's the breaks. The three items of Baras's power base were a spy in the Republic military, a spy in the Jedi Order, and a captive Sith spirit whose visions/precognition he stole. I liked the handling of the military dude and the Sith spirit, but for the Jedi I really wish we'd had a LS path that involved saving at least one of the not-spy Jedi in the spy's Jedi team. Oh well.

Nothing quite as lol as capturing someone mid-blink and mid-gesture.
The grand finale, of course, was running off to Korriban to confront Baras in the Dark Council Chambers. This had some odd moments, like Baras actually taking off his mask for phase 2 of the fight (he has a face???) and the ending was similar to the Thanaton fight, with Baras appealing to the other Dark Councilors all
Baras: Marr! Help me, or face the fury of the Emperor!
Marr: I'll take my chances.
(Yes, I'm a Marr fanpenguin.) Unlike with Thanaton, there was the option to spare Baras, but ... meh. Even if it would've been the LS path. Phos'kara wants to avoid further Quinn Incidents and also make Baras stfu.

A moderately static posing and framing, but: lightning.
Companion plotlines: Broonmark said he liked it here and would stay, Pierce and Jaesa had their own solo missions – Pierce doing a black ops assault of the Bastion on Corellia, Jaesa saving a light-aligned Sith from a Darth out to kill all the light everywhere – and elected to stay, Vette had her own quest where we arrived mere days too late to find her mother dead, and Quinn proposed. Actually, the marriage conversation was hilarious, since it ended like this:
Quinn: Now that we are closer, perhaps you could call me Malavai?
Phos'kara: I think I should rather call you "husband". Or perhaps "hubby"?
Quinn: Ugh, I should've known you'd be like this. Anyway, I'm going back to work. Wife.

LOL.
I quite liked all of it, ch3 included, even though I think the first chapter was the best due to the potential for utter hilarity wrt being more LS than the Jedi – I recognize they had to go all serious in the plot, but I sort of wish the confrontation with the Jedi agent on Corellia would've had a LS path with some of that ch1 bonkers feeling. I think this is the best so far, due to the opportunity to be a colossal snarker + the good plot, and quite liked it, even if the companions were a bit less tailor-made than the Agent's and it wasn't quite as iddy as the Inquisitor. Definitely funnier than the Smuggler, though!
