For those who wish to know, "perähikiä" is the Finnish for "bumfuck nowhere". All of my family lives there. *g*

Went with 4 in the end but it was close, because I love 1 as well, especially that pop of red. <3

"perähikiä" is the Finnish for "bumfuck nowhere"

Heee! We call this "JWD", short for "janz weit draußen" - "wayyy far out". ;-)

Other alternatives include "hornan kuusi" (Hell's spruce) and "huitsin Nevada" (fucking far away Nevada – lots of Finns emigrated to the US in the turn of the 1900s due to famines and Russian oppression). "Perähikiä" is the one that includes the implication that it's some hinterland no-one wants to travel to.

Hell's spruce is lovely - very poetic! :-)

But Perähikiä is JWD, alright - the ass end of nowhere, far away from anything of any interest whatsoever. :-)

I went with forest. Something about the way the trees line an empty space definitely gives off a perähikiä vibe.
