Dramatis Personae for Modao Zushi the book

People have several types of name: the míng (presented first, if known), the zì (courtesy name; disyllabic, in brackets after the míng if that is known), and the hào (title/pseudonym/art name/etc), which is 3 to 4 syllables long. This is mostly for entertainment value plus reference to self; my Chinese is far from good enough to be of use beyond using the dictionary like a pro.

I have wondered this about Lan Wangji and Lan Xichen. Shouldn't they have the same start? Or is it only the Jins that do this?

'Thinking of mulberry trees' is very fitting for Nie Huaisang.

What were her parents thinking??
