Well, truth or dare in the midshipman's billet on either the Hexapuma or the War Maiden would be really funny ...

So far, I've decided that I'll do a diagonal from "fuck or die" to "au: cop/detective". The fuck or die square is Vorkosigan and half written already and I can handle the wild card, but some sort of prompts for accidental baby acquisition and road trip would be nice. Or a magic "here, have a cop AU story" wand.

*snorts* Given Honor canonically did accidental baby acquistion that says something about Weber's writing. Given that I seem to remember something about the tree-cat life-support modules also getting used for babies, what about a Navy rescue crew post either the destruction of Blackbird or Haephaestus pulling a baby out of one of them alive?

Road trip ... what about something from Cathy Montaigne's trip to Old Chicago when she exiled herself there? Did she go direct, or did she wander around the Core Worlds for a bit?

If it wasn't for the AU part, I'd point you at the Sollies at the tail end of A Rising Thunder, who are starting to try and investigate Manpower/Mesa's tendrils in the League amongst other things, because they got hit with the cluebat.

Oh dear, looks like I'm going to do another reread of canon!

Hmm, how about Alfredo Yu/Mercedes Brigham accidental baby acquisition sometime just after Flag in Exile, before In Enemy Hands/Echoes of Honor? Either something like that or I'll dabble into Ancillary Justice/Imperial Radch. (Breq/Seivarden, perhaps? In any case, the series is worth checking out.)

I might be able to spin a Lord Auditor Miles Vorkosigan casefic into an AU: Detective story.

If all goes as planned, my wild card will be Sex Pollen Theisman/LePic >:D
