I have no idea why I want to scream in frustration, but, I sort of do. Shrug. (Maybe it's because of the comment I got on a fic that was "But why don't you make a sequel that completely undermined the point of this fic?" I know I should be glad that people are reading fic over a year old, but ... it was tagged with Major Character Death and Bad End, you knew what you were getting into!) Also panicking about packing for Worldcon. Do I need a laptop for ficcage, or should I just declare that it's book-reading time?

I've written 4k over the past three days. Yay me! Signs also point to me breaking 100k published on AO3 this year by the end of August.

Today's snippet showcases how influenced by Douglas Adams I am:

"I'm a rental recollections agent, not a – ^’&/@£Ʒ," Li Si grumbled. "I have no clue how to do that."

Zhao Yunlan stared at her pitifully.

"I'll ask an acquaintance," Li Si sighed. "If only because you are the cutest hamsters and most daring ants I have come across."

"This cute hamster thanks you from the bottom of his heart," Zhao Yunlan said.

Li Si did something that was almost, but not quite, entirely unlike laughing. Eh, she was their alien benefactor; better grant her some slack.

One and a half scenes and then I'll have connected the start to block #2! Then another 5k and I'll have connected it to block #3! And this fic looks like it'll be 42k. I've written 26k. Please send help.

Single adult with nothing to do, plus weekend! Also lots of practice.

I'm trying to meet up with schneefink if schedules allow, but mostly I'm there for the panels and stores and other such content. I'm a bit awkward and prefer structured socializing!

I don't use my phone for much of it, so....
I have a BlackBerry with a keyboard, so I can write fic on it; it's just "do I want to write soulmates sequel/sign up for Death Waits For No Fen and write those fics in a hotel". I'm not that interested in the super late program items, or in putzing about in the nightlife, but ... I'd have to lug my laptop around, which is always a bother, and perhaps I should take the opportunity to actually do some reading instead.

There was a very pretentious section I've Sunday sixed beforehand that had talk about "If an ant asked for your help, would you give it?" and "Actually, the difference is more akin to human and hamster than human and ant." You probably recall that? I'm glad you're intrigued!

I'm taking a week-long break for Worldcon purposes. I hope I'll have a nice writing stretch after that.

I don't really have that many idiots - my fics are typically too cerebral/not iddy enough for most idiots to bother reading through to the end. Worldbuilding generally doesn't attract that many people being rude about sequels. This was my first idiot!
