I subbed another fanvid a few days back! 闲云志 Record of Idle Clouds; again Song Lan/Xiao Xingchen. Less depressing than most. I've also now read up to ch 108 of a translation, and I have to say, I was spoiled for all/most of the relationship beats, but somehow the execution and context makes them infinitely worse and less convincing romance beats. Bleh. I'll continue my ways of not shipping Lan Wangji/Wei Wuxian.

This one is technically not a fansong, but the drawings are nice and the closest thing to a happy ending these two seem to get, and the song is super soothing. It is also now my voice headcanon for Song Lan!

Thanks to yjtc from the Nirvana in Fire Discord/fwoopersongs for helping me with my translation questions! Any mistakes that remain are entirely mine. The Zhuangzi, also called 南华真经 (Divine Classic of the South) is an ancient Chinese text from the late Warring States period which contains stories and anecdotes that exemplify the carefree nature of the ideal Daoist sage. One theme is accepting death as a natural transformation, which Song Lan doesn't want to do.

I translated and subtitled a fansong from Chinese to English! It's called 又雪 Again snowfall, and it's a Modao Zushi/Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation fansong for a ship involving two minor characters. Spoilers up to ch 42 of the translation.



I'll be requesting the canon for Yuletide, but probably neither of the characters present in the video.

I've written a bunch of fics for my new shiny, Modao Zushi. One of them involved translating some poems from Chinese plus composing some poems in Chinese. (This is because I like to run before I can walk.) Poems are for Despite the Warning Signs, recited/written a 14-year-old whose passport reads "Drama Land".
