[personal profile] libitina asked about the favorite ceramic item I own or have owned in the past. ...or want to own in the future.

Let me begin with an excursion into fluid mechanics. When one pours water through a spout, if the spout is narrow, everything is peachy. If the spout is wide, though, a droplet accumulates on the spout, and when one stops pouring, that droplet does not go back into the main container. No: gravity pulls it out. It runs down along the outer edge of the container until it hits the table. In the not so prosaic words of my mother, the vessel pisses itself.

And let me tell you, there are so many teapots that piss themselves. So many. But not my teapot! It's perfect. My mom inherited it from her aunt and gave it on to me. It's an Arabia MA-model from the 50s/60s. It looks like these ones:

The one with gold on the top as well, on the left. It fits 1 L of liquid and is great. 10/10, would recommend.
