I'm not much of a rereader, and I have half a mind to go "uh maybe I should grab some textbooks and edify myself", but restricting myself to stuff I've already read and enjoyed, I came up with some books, even all snotty and influenza-y that I currently am.
1. Children of Time - Adrian Tchaikovsky
Sentient spiders! The worldbuilding and the spider society were cool, and upon a stay on a desert island, I might have the patience to do a human-subplot-only reread to see how that reads when I'm not going "But I wanted to see the spiders!!!" all the time.
2. Startide Rising - David Brin
I really enjoyed the sentient dolphins and the science fiction worldbuilding here, and this was a nice adventure romp featuring some great characters. The main ship goes and has some adventures later on, but there are a few people who get left behind and have to make their own way to Earth and don't get revisited later.
3. Diaspora - Greg Egan
I am a fan of Greg Egan's work, especially when he gets all hard science-y, and I liked the inter-societal cooperation in this. It also showcases some of Egan's usual themes about embodiment very well.
4. Pushing Ice - Alastair Reynolds
Look, I'm a sucker for interesting superstructures, and this book centers on two women and their relationship with each other (and doesn't end in as annoying het as the Revelation Space series does with Ana Khouri). I find it cool.
5. Nemesis - Isaac Asimov
I think this was the first book I read with two narrative POVs that had different timelines? Anyway, I was really into the whole travel to a different world segment and Erythros itself was pretty cool in a way I'd be happy to revisit.
