I do exist outside of Mondays, I promise!
geraineon made a post with some links about diaspora writing: Write More “Indianly,” or Else: Asha Thanki on the Trap of “Authentic” Writing and Jaroslav Kalfar’s Spaceman of Bohemia, A Review- On Visible/Invisible Places, The Czech Republic, And Mo Yan’s Diseased Language, which I found really interesting, and which have stirred some interesting discussion in geraineon's journal.
A potentially habitable exoplanet: LHS-1140b is an eyeball earth that potentially has liquid water! Very cool and an interesting setting for science fiction stories.
Apparently one adaptation of The Message (some sort of spy drama? I think? set during the Japanese occupation of China/Taiwan?) is very femslashy and available on Vimeo: episodes 1-20, episodes 21-38. (Needs login.) Shall try to watch after
battleshipex is over. Possibly even vid.
Speaking of vidding, a vidding zine is getting started and is currently in submissions.

ETA: I can't believe I forgot these two anthropological/archaeological essays I found!
The Isolation of the Andaman Islanders – if you've heard of the North Sentinel Islanders, this is the island chain. Turns out there are two layers of indigenous population here! Includes notes on genetic and linguistic evidence + why they now flee for the hills/pull out weapons at the first sign of strangers.
The Marajóara Culture – estimating the minimum population for a culture in the Amazon delta using archaeological evidence.
