My l33t fiziks skillz prevent me from properly enjoying the trope, since time travel is impossible. (FTL doesn't seem to ping this, though.) The one caveat: one-way trip to the future via cryogenics/relativity/etc! With that definition, I have written one time-travel fic, but I'm not sure if that counts.

So, not very likely to read or write. A few lines of origfic:

Ialu coughed.

The last thing she remembered was a light in the darkness, first growing and then acquiring color, and then. Well, then her memory cut out, but a lingering sensation of pain clung to her sinews.

A mechanical whirring sound first appeared and then abated into nothingness. A breeze brushed Ialu's face. She opened her eyes.

The room was an antiseptic blue-white, and the scent of ozone was just registering in her nose. She was lying on her back. The ceiling panels ran the length of the room, and were perhaps a meter in width each. The lights were blue-white, and recessed into the juncture of the ceiling and the walls. The center of the room had a larger lamp. Ialu tried turning her head but couldn't.

Footsteps. "We'a-ttha fyusha, Ialu!"

"Sorry?" Ialu asked.

Beeping. "Welcome to the future, Ialu," an artificial-sounding voice said. "You have slept for a quarter millennium."

Fuck.
