The penultimate square of my bingo card! It's a Lovely Day in Dragon City has Shen Wei get treed by a goose (because he can't just reveal that he's the Black-Cloaked Envoy and use Dixing powers or something) and Zhao Yunlan comes to save him. I've had a lot of fun with this bingo card! I'll write the final one – Power – tomorrow. IDK what it'll be yet, but lunch break shall hopefully tell.
I also did some introspection about myself and fandoming, upon realizing that I was actually perfectly positioned to be a BNF in the MDZS fandom had I seized the chance. (On the scale from "popcorn lit" to "doorstopper literachoor", MDZS fandom's preferences were (are?) so much more popcorn-y than mine that it'd have been soulless suffering for me. And I'm not neurotypical enough to do the startup BNF networking and aggressive promo.) I came to the conclusion that I'm 100% fine with being a niche interest, as long as at least one person turns up to appreciate whatever I made. I even prefer being a niche interest, in a way, since then the comments are much better (one comment that digs into the meat vs 10 comments going "omg")! I have my niche, I have people dropping comments and kudos on my stuff, I have a wordcount steadily going upwards (129080 this year!), and I have 74 people who've subscribed to me as an author. My nook is cozy and warm. I'm happy to be in it.
