29 Jul 2016 13:37All around me, the evil sky lamp is heating the Earth and making people sweat, but I, I work in a windowless basement, free from solar glare, kept at a climate-conditioned 20 Celsius and highly ventilated. Envy me.

What makes you fannish? And by that we mean, what is it about a tv show/movie/book/band/podcast/etc that takes you from, "Yeah, I like that," to "I need MOAR!!!" Is it a character? A plotline? When it's otherwise excellent, but SOMETHING IS MISSING (The Goblin Emperor) and/or THEY DID SOMETHING WRONG (Revelation Space). Occasionally, I NEED MOAR (Europa Report). Mostly the SOMETHING IS MISSING, I think. Nice characters and/or worldbuilding, with lots of space for thought, especially when it kinda sorta shades into THEY DID SOMETHING WRONG (with choosing to focus on XYZ).
Oh, and when there's a community of people to be fannish with. Nothing quite as dreadful as screaming into the void, sigh.
