22. Favorite science moment
This is more of a Science! moment than an actual science moment, but: every occasion where someone else corrects stuff on Professor Ouyang's whiteboard. Both Li Qian just being a BAMF and correcting the reaction equation thingy or whatever when she was but a test subject, and Shen Wei following the thingy through when he breaks into the lab with Zhao Yunlan and Da Qing.

[personal profile] yantantether is hosting a discussion on POV in Guardian fic; I was about to respond with a claim that I only ever interrupted my Zhao Yunlan POV with Ye Zun POV, but then I realized that not only does spaceship rental have Shen Wei POV, it also has Professor Zhou POV (which is probably the most exotic POV I've written for Guardian!), and I have actually published several works with Shen Wei POV (tentacles), as well as Zhu Hong and Li Qian (repeatedly). So, moral of the story: my brain is a sieve when it comes torecalling works I spend less than a month on.

Discreetly, Guardian has crept to be my most-written fandom by fic count on AO3 at 30 works. By published wordcount, it's second to MDZS still, but if we count spaceship rental (Waiting in the Sky? at least this one has a preliminary title before I'm staring at the New Work view on AO3), it might soon be dethroned. Spaceship rental now stands at 54k, and I have 8-ish scenes marked down still, so I expect the complete draft to stand at 62-65k, which'll expand to something like 70k with edits. (I need at least one Shen Wei introspection scene more, plus more Da Qing and dénouements to existing scenes that I left to dangle.) I'll be busy the first few weeks of October, so it might not be fully written in two weeks like it probably could, but by the end of October, maybe? (Plus edits. Uh, posting in December? *g*) Here, have a paragraph fresh from the oven:

University studies had started out as a cover for him, but while he'd originally intended to only give the tip of his fingernail to them, he'd given the finger as well, and eventually plunged in his whole arm. The cover had turned into a hobby that had turned out to be his calling. The empty-bellied boy looking at the stars, wondering which one his kind had come from, had grown up and discovered his true hunger was for knowledge.

(Needless to say, I am being quite liberal at how large a snippet counts for Sunday Six. I'm sure someone devoted enough could find some metric by which the above has six somethings, but whatever. Words!)
