So, witnessing how I just ... skipped an entire week of posts, I figured I should probably start a posting meme. And
trobadora was doing a lovely one. The decision was simple! Meme sources (
trobadora's first post).
01. What's changed about your fandom life in the last 365 days?
In the coming and going of fandoms, I've drifted out of Guardian fandom. I usually need a clean break and a bit of time to recover before I can go poke about the fandom casually/write for it in exchanges, but idk what the timescale will be. I know I stayed after the explosion of 2019, but having half the fandom explode at me over a misunderstanding/bullshit was ... not a pleasant experience, and I suspect I might need a longer break than I usually do.
In the acquisitions column, I've gotten into Star Wars. Both the prequels era (Prequel trilogy, The Clone Wars) and Star Wars: The Old Republic, a MMO set 3000+ years before the main trilogies. If you are wondering why my annual wordcount is so low, it is because I have been busy MMO'ing. I've even done a few raids with randos! Had fun, 10/10, would recommend.
In the ways of doing fandom column ... I've stopped posting meta for Guardian, but that's because I left the fandom. I guess I could post meta for Star Wars, but that's a wanky megafandom and some of my opinions are decidedly unpopular. I don't think I'd get any problems (the fandom isn't on DW), but as a result of overexposure I absolutely loathe any and all Mandalorians and they're quite popular everywhere, and, just: what if someone asks for my Mandalorian opinions in the comments? No. No. I have been chatting about stuff on
dreamwars, though!
I've posted some non-exchange fic, but my primary means of interacting with fandom continues to be dumping fic in various tags. My current WIP in publication (completes next Sunday) is Sing Dead the Dark, T-rated gen canon divergence where Anakin and R2-D2 crash on a Sith planet during the Clone Wars and this leads to a fixit. My current project in writing is We Die Like Fen, a chaotic flash exchange where I look to be on track to write over 10k in two weeks. Yay?
