We last left off on Nar Shaddaa. Turns out that running around in circles enough got the next bit to trigger!
One of the Squidwards invited us into an exclusive bar, where the poisonous fumes flow and humans ain't allowed. We accepted, but Mira the Bounty Hunter, spunky redhead extraordinaire, poisoned us and stole our space suit. Oops. Jedi Master Zez-Kai Ell informed us that he'd be going to rescue her, but he must've got lost or something since he was totally useless and didn't even show up.
Anyway, Mira removes her space suit once she gets to the poison-free zone, and then gets captured by Squidward. What was the point of this, exactly, Mira? Meanwhile, a pair of Twi'Lek bounty hunters try to off Atton, and there's a sequence where we play as Atton. (One thing I do like is that the game forces you to vary your party a bit and has solo sections for a lot of party members.) Then Vanna must go to rescue Mira, first going through the ~lethal poisonous fumes~. Kreia teaches us Breath Control, a Force power that makes us immune to poison and is useless after this. We could've also just put on a breath mask, but oh well. We battle through the various aliens who hate humans and then get to the secret back room, from which we get to the vents. Then we discover that the door to the Secret Underground Complex is locked.
Cut to Mira! She must battle Hanharr the unhinged Wookiee who hates her. We run around a bit and have him die to the mines conveniently placed around the battle arena, then battle some beasts, and shoot through some anti-Jedi alien cultists. We FINALLY find the button to escape and let in our Jedi Exile. Vanna goes to the battle arena, and Squidward appears, only to get murderated by his boss Goto who wanted us alive thank you very much. Goto takes us to his ship. Kreia resurrects Hanharr.
Our companions get attacked, and there's a sequence where we select who accompanies Atton to fight the goons, and play through that. Mira joins the party officially. We send our astromech droid, T3-M4, to infiltrate the Hutt's warehouse and get a transponder code for our ship so that Goto will try to kidnap us, too. T3-M4 is a badass and we play as him murderating 3 assassin droids all by himself and other such stuff. Transponder codes: recovered.
The Ebon Hawk, armed with an all-new ID, gets kidnapped by Goto's ship. I choose Visas and Mira to save Vanna, and after some hairy situations, a bit of hacking, and me not realizing where the audience chamber is, Vanna is rescued and there is a party of three. We head to the bridge, and there's a huuuge minefield. Mira picks up ALL THE MINES because she's good at demolitions and the mines will come in handy later. There's a showdown with Goto. He gives us a droid, G0-T0, to accompany us, and explains to us that he wants the Republic stabilized and for the Jedi religious war to END, because it's bad for business or something. We battle our way back to the Ebon Hawk, since we disabled the shields and all the bounty hunters want to murder us and they're on the ship now. After we reach the Ebon Hawk, Goto's ship blows up. Such is life.
We go back to Nar Shaddaa, and have a chat with Zez-Kai Ell. He gave some sorta-answers, then taught me a lightsaber form, and sodded off to Dantooine. Goto gone, I got the local Hutt to sell fuel to Telos, and convinced a manager dude to hire some refugees and give them a better chance. I had a few chats with Mira, and made her a Jedi Sentinel. Just like me and Visas!
Mira asked me whether my glow was due to me sleeping with Atton. (Answer: IT'S THE FORCE.) I got to reply with "I'd rather stab myself with my lightsaber. After stabbing Atton." Thank you for finally representing my feelings, game! Also, I repaired the broken droid. Hi, HK-47, murder machine!
We head off to Dantooine, where the colonists are very anti-Jedi, and there are salvagers and mercs running about making their lives harder. The entirety of the plot is to explore the hidden underground levels of the collapsed Jedi Enclave and discover Disciple, a blue-eyed blond dude who's like ... the amount of hero worship comes as a bit creepy. It's the voice acting and the wide-eyed expression, I think. Anyway, he's following Vanna now. He turned down the chance to become a Jedi because he wanted to be her padawan and then she went off to war and got exiled and he didn't want to be part of a Jedi Order who'd do that. We found a young padawan hiding. We talked to her and she gave us her lightsaber and decided to give up Jedi-ness for a bit.
Running around and doing small sidequests, we discovered the Crystal Cave, and found a pet rock. Yep, the Vanna Draconis crystal, which Kreia can adjust to Vanna's lighting preference. Damage against Dark Side and all that. We also discover Master Vrook, who's being held captive by mercenaries who want to KILL THE SETTLERS. His "plan" was to stay captive and delay the assault, without even informing the settler leadership of the assault. As a consequence, he's a grade-A asshole to us when we free him and kill the merc pack.
We go to Khoomba, the seat of government, and get the gun turrets online, repair the droids, recruit soldiers, heal some wounded soldiers, hold an inspirational speech, and kick merc ass. (Well, we could've sided with the mercs, but General Lady Light Side, Light-Sidiest of All.) We save everyone, and master Kavar teaches us a technique that might be ancient but certainly isn't forbidden. A few conversations with Disciple, and he becomes a Jedi Consular, which makes no sense, since he's a beefy soldier and should become a Guardian instead. (Also, the counterpart of his that accompanies male player characters is a Soldier who DOES become a Jedi Guardian. Grr.) Atton has also become a Jedi Sentinel. Like, there's FOUR Jedi Sentinels on this spaceship. FOUR.
I also had a long conversation with Kreia. The cinematic was a bit OTT and a tad rapey at the "unspeakable things" bit. Another part of that, and a long conversation with G0-T0 about Revan, were delightfully full of praising the competence of two women: Revan and Vanna. I really like the fact that the game was written to be almost completely identical for male and female characters, since it means that I get to hear about women being acknowledged as competent, the preferred option over a dude, fit to rule the Galaxy, and that's sadly rare, even in modern times. I also become a Jedi Weapons Master (master at hitting things in the face with a lightsaber) somewhere here or before, I can't recall when exactly.
Atton and Disciple both have a crush on Vanna. I second Disciple, for he said "...I thought she was the hero." and yes, I am the hero, and I have a colossal hateboner for my annoying sidekick, Atton.
On the way to Onderon, and asshole Colonel shot us out of the sky and we landed on the moon Dxun. Inexplicably pronounced "Duckson". It was a battle site during the Mandalorian Wars, in which we were a General. We fight our way through the jungle, and come across a Mandalorian encampment! We meet Mandalore (Canderous Ordo, of KOTOR 1 fame), and he agrees to bring us to Iziz if we prove ourselves worthy. After some repairing of miscellaneous things, besting Mandalorians in hand-to-hand combat, and murderating more jungle wildlife, we are Worthy and are brought to Iziz.
Iziz is the one city on Onderon. Queen Talia is young, and General Vaklu (whose asshole Colonel shot us out of the sky) is trying to oust her from power. Some intrigue, and we get to liberate Mandalore's friend, who can arrange for us to meet Master Kavar, from prison. Also we help a Republic spy and a widow to get offplanet. We back Queen Talia in dialogue choices, and thus Vaklu's troops interrupt our meeting with Kavar. We get off Onderon posthaste. Kavar goes to warn Talia, and tells us to avoid Onderon for the time being.
