Moving requires packing, which is terrible. Don't move if you can help it, kids. Even if your life may fit into a trailer and stuffedish car.

I also don't deal well with leaving. Part of it is that I'm terrible at keeping in touch with people outside of my immediate environment.

This December will likely be spent first writing stressfic, which may or may not be Yuletide-related (I'm taking my prompts file and outlines with me), then gorging on Yulefic. Let's see what this flavor of stressfic looks like, from outside and inside. Perhaps, come author reveals, the fandom_stocking stockings will have all been posted, and I can start filling them?

In more positive/less gloomy news, I've discovered I like nekomimi. (Example.) This leads to a very cracky fic idea: all Dixingians have cat ears. Zhao Yunlan, cat person, likes petting Shen Wei's cat ears, which Shen Wei also likes. At some point, Zhao Yunlan pets Ye Zun's cat ears, and this is the first time ever anyone has been nice to Ye Zun, so he abandons his world domination plans just a little bit so that Zhao Yunlan can continue petting his ears. This is probably some subconscious reaction to stress: I just want a cat(person) to pet, and I also want to be petted. Also indicative of my stress fantasies' shapes: "And then they all lived happily ever after, very cuddlily."

One of my narrative kinks is happy endings where everyone gets enough hugs, so my daydream-level things are very much like that. Should I try to make them into actual fics, some conflict/imperfections would appear, but on the imagining level, they're all schmoop.

He would! I am reasonably sure both he and his brother have a huge praise kink, and Ye Zun hasn't really encountered people being nice to him. No-one's ever asked why he's doing what he's doing, etc. (Given that line, I am pretty sure he and Shen Wei have a similar "intrinsic" personality, Shen Wei was merely given an okay youth and a Kunlun who was interested in him as a person whereas Ye Zun was emotionally and physically abused by the original rebel leader, and never had anyone be interested in him for himself, never mind be nice to him.) A better knowledge of who Ye Zun was, and Zhao Yunlan might've been able to stop him way back in the park at the midway point of the series. Hm, perhaps Zhao Yunlan can get idk a vision from the future that tells him which button to press?

That is a fantastic plot-bunny. And very plausible. After all Zhao Yunlan did get visions after touching the Hallows. They were about the future, but who says he couldn’t have visions about the past. And now I really want someone to write that fic. :)

To be fair, two of those were when I was young enough it was my parents moving. I have started packing, and perhaps I can clean up more efficiently now? My mats need to be washed. /o\

Oh, Zhao Yunlan was raised by a cat, yes, but that would just mean that he'd find inexplicable cat ears cute and know all the good places to pet! Shen Wei and Ye Zun would be their canon selves, merely with inexplicable cat ears. (The inexplicable cat ears are because I find them cute.) And yes, that is ... quite a vid. I don't quite know what to think of it. Apparently I am disturbed by ships where they get together while one can't effectively communicate?

I am a "crack taken seriously" person, so a bunch of things that run on porn logic or awws logic just ... don't work, because I'm trying to worldbuild a reasonable explanation for something inexplicable. It is on occasion frustrating to be unable to experience what everyone else is getting!

I was going to make a GIP response about nekomimi, to the effect of it being half the reason I got into a certain fandom; then I realised that my only Loveless icon features no cat ears! Sadness. Maybe I can find somebody to animate the sleepy!Ritsuka icon I've always wanted...

My cats would certainly volunteer to be petted, if you were in petting reach! (Well, after a suitable getting-to-know-you period. Courageous they are not.)

A whole lot, probably. I moved in a way less drastic way at an earlier age, but still a complete reorganization of my social life, and I do think it's exacerbated any natural tendencies to be terrible at keeping in touch.
