I posted a fic yesterday. It's one of the Discord Storytimes I've edited and cleaned up (I guess I still have two more I could edit and post?), this time for the prompt of Zhao Yunlan getting jealous. I live-wrote the fic just fine, but in editing, I ran across the problem that I considered the central concept OOC. Oops.

I still decided to post the fic after some fine-tuning of only Shen Wei's characterization, since I couldn't fix Yunlan without having to toss the entire thing, and hey, some people appear to have liked it? It is at the very least porn that features the use of Dixing power suppressing handcuffs.

Summary:

Zhao Yunlan goes to a society event, sees everyone else get to flirt with Shen Wei, and drags him home for some boning. Shen Wei is more than happy to go along with it.

Other than that, I have made an additional 5 icons and have done 10 icons per episode for episodes 6 and 7! This is because it is too hot to think here, and icontalking's Ask the Maker topic brought up some new fonts and textures I wanted to try out. Have a preview! (font, textures)


I have also picked up a stacking gaiwan-esque thing and cup combo solely because it was fast to arrive (the stuff I've been eyeing elsewhere would take longer, and I'm off to my relatives' for midsummer). Jade blue is one of my favorite colors, and the gaiwan-brewed tea does actually behave differently to bulk-brewed! I've tried it with two teas so far, and Lushan Yunwu with arbitrary how-it-feels brewing times has worked better than Xinyang Maofeng with the recommended brewing times (which were quite long).

Oh, and I've noticed that lots of songs have lyrics that refer to light and darkness. This may or may not be useful when titling things. (I tend towards the shorter and more alliterative/parallellistic titles, rather than long quotes. Hm, sometimes having one's national epic be poetry because it alliterates and has parallellism does get reflected in the most improbable of places...) So much talk of flames at the edge of night! It immediately puts me into a Shen Wei angst mood currently.

I lost all my fonts last year when my computer crashed, so I desperately need new ones for icons.

There was a specific fonts subthread! I downloaded a few suggested ones, which is likely to be all the scribbly fonts I need. The only ones I'd rex not mentioned explicitly there are Hanyi Senty Chinese fonts, which have Latin character support as well. Hanyi Senty Zhao is, like, my absolute favorite font for latin characters due to the fact that it's clearly legible with a touch of showy elegance. (Seriously, I love the way the uppercase Z works.)

Since you say so yourself, I did think that Zhao Yunlan is OOC here regarding the central concept. But ingoring that, it was still a fun read, and the idea with the handcuffs is quite intriguing!

Yeah, I don't really see him as jealous at all. The not-OOC version of the story would be him going "Shen Wei, you are so sexy and beautiful" and adding to the flirting Shen Wei received at the end of the day, with some cuddling as well. But a prompt is a prompt, and I'd passed up on a novelverse one already, so this one I wrote.

The handcuffs definitely need more use in fandom! Zhao Yunlan can handcuff his favortie Dixingian to the bed for sexytimes or to force him to take a nap and chill for a bit.

Tbh, the fic made me wonder if he wouldn't be more like the opposite - getting an extra buzz from other people wanting to be all over Shen Wei. (Hotprofessoring!) So in addition to the fun part, it was definitely thought-provoking!

He'd definitely get a buzz at Shen Wei being all hot! And proud that he'd scored the Hot Prof everyone else wanted, too. Shen Wei isn't really one to cheat, after all, and Zhao Yunlan is not really insecure at all. I'm glad you found it arousing of thoughts as well. :P
