11 days to the winter solstice, and then the days will start to get longer again. :/ Thankfully, there's still winter left after that.

IRL, I've hung stuff on the walls and should clean someday... (#slobwhatslob) Fannishly, I've procrastinated on a Yuletide treat by going through my music collection and looking at the lyrics (because I need some chapter title inspiration for For No Cradle Lasts Forever). Oh, and Writing Rainbow: Green revealed today! The Guardian fics are nice, as is my gift, Nature's First Green (MDZS, Yu Ziyuan gen). I've watched 8 episodes of The Untamed so far, and despite everything, I can feel myself acquire shippy sentiments for Lan Wangji/Wei Wuxian, wtf is this??? Digging the plot changes and Wen Qing and Jiang Cheng's interactions, as well as the fact that they remembered Wei Wuxian was brilliant and had him invent a talisman all by himself! (I mean, the timeline's a bit loltastic – all this happened only 100 years ago, and no-one remembers shit? Come on.) Baoshan Sanren was hot, and I think once I'm done I'll go look up some Lan Yi/Baoshan Sanren.

See, I quite like the sunshine during the day (so long as it doesn't get above ~22C), but I don't want it to start till 7.30. These 5.30am sunrises are hell. ETA: I realise this complaint is likely to provoke hollow laughter from your part of the world. ;-p

*hollow laughter* Yes, indeed. I can live with a 7am sunrise, but not a 3am one/"it's kinda twilight-y for a hour max and then it's bright again". (Or, more relevantly, I want it to be dark when I go to sleep, none of this "still bright at midnight" bs.)

When it's never properly dark, is there a point at which the birds start kicking up a fuss? Our dawn chorus is about 5am atm, I think.

They sort of transition from "dawn chorus" to "constant chirping" ime. They quiet down a bit for the twilight and are a bit more active in the early morning, but that's about it.

I choose to believe that drivers will see me when it's light out. I find it reassuring. Maybe my optimism there is misplaced, though. ;)
