I read David Brin's novella Temptation recently! It's part 7 out of the Uplift series/something of a novella addendum to the 6-novel series. In the grand tradition of science fiction, it centers on a cool idea – this one isn't quite as cool as the rest of the Uplift series, but I actually give a fuck about Jijo now, so, congrats! I'm probably going to request something related to it for Space Swap, and if David Brin ever ends up writing that further Uplift book he was speaking about in 2012, I'll read it.

Characterwise, anyone who knows me is probably not at all surprised to hear that I agree with Tkett and quite like him, though Chissis stole the show. Uplifted dolphins continue to be the one exception to my het DNW, as I would have no problem with Tkett/Chissis or Tkett/Peepoe or whatnot. Though given my interests lie outside the romance genre, I think I'll just request solo characters.
