WIP Update

After at least two months spent taking a break, I've added 4k (!!!) to All That is Solid Melts into Air, bringing it to ~53k. I should probably break up the file, tbh, if only so I can actually open it on my phone in a reasonable time. Google Docs is terrible about loading. (Yes, this is my write-on-mobile fic, for work breaks, "wait 15 minutes" process steps, and travel.) I'm pretty sure this will need at least 10k more just to reach the ending, then a few k more of "oops, I forgot to tie up that plot thread" while I'm rereading for coherence. My longest fic to date is 75k; let's see how close this gets.

Anyway, here's a snippet I can actually share with you without giving away absolutely everything:

Ahsoka swallowed and closed her eyes to the stars of realspace. She flexed her fingers and tried not to tremble.

She shouldn't be here.

She couldn't be anywhere else.

The Rebellion couldn't extract Master Luminara, but they didn't know what a Jedi could do – what Ahsoka could do. Her master had made her practice being shot at by clones, deflecting their bolts. The Force must have whispered into his ear about what was about to be wrought, even if it hadn't been clear enough to save him.

She'd assigned herself to one Citadel rescue mission already. What was another one?

Would Anakin be proud of her?

He would be, once she'd saved Master Luminara. He'd always loved daring rescues and snatching victory from the jaws of defeat. Surely he'd love her freeing the only other remaining Jedi from the Empire. They needed to cooperate and plan if they were to defeat Sidious.

Lola Sayu drifted towards her. She took a deep breath and settled her hands on the controls.

Other highlights include Ahsoka getting to gaslight Tarkin a bit, as a treat, and R2-D2 applying Kirchoff's law.
