Since the last update, I've finished Ilum, which lead to an introduction to flashpoints! I like the whole rolling battle thing and the utter lack of junk inventory filler drops. Plus the way the bosses have huge quantities of health makes the regular world stuff feel comparatively papery, lol. After some poking around with the macrobinocular and seeker droid questlines plus bonus series missions, I've discovered I'm happiest when doing storyline stuff. I did the Makeb expansion (Rise of the Hutt Cartel), which was mostly unmemorable from the Imperial side as I was playing a female character and thus didn't get to engage in same-sex flirting. I did save Cytharat, though, so hopefully he can find the man of his life elsewhere.
CZ-198 and Oricon: CZ-198 contains Eva Kaayz, who is hot and whom I can flirt with! Alas, the story is contained in flashpoints that can only be played in a group, so I can't get to the endgame flirtery/possible kissing. I'll have to ask around on the Fleet for group members. (The playerbase is really helpful, so I'm sure there'll be someone willing to come help, but I'd have to ask and that's always harrowing somehow.) Oricon doesn't have a green-skinned space babe to flirt with, and ends in another type of mandatory group activity that takes at least 8 people, so I'll just skip the ending. The lava lakes and tentacles growing from the earth are very atmospheric, though.
One of the things I don't like is that they brought back Revan and HK-47. HK-47 I could tolerate, except that they recast the voice actor or something? He sounds different, at any rate, and they were really light on the "Statement:" stuff at the start of his lines. Then they went and made dude Revan canon, and gave him a face (!!!) and a voice (no). I refuse. I'd already encoutered him as a flashpoint miniboss, and ... the only way I can make Revan work is that this isn't actually Revan, this is a rando the Emperor stuffed with some of Revan's memories so this fake Revan went mad and decided to become a melodramatic flashpoint miniboss. This also solves the plot hole of flashpoint miniboss becoming an expansion end boss: the Emperor had multiple victims! This "Revan" is simply the memory implantation target the Revanites found most convincing.
(I will accept the purple lightsaber, though.)
The four-flashpoint series that is Prelude to the Shadow of Revan was fun, mostly because a) flashpoints, and b) I got to flirt with Lana Beniko! She is definitely interested back. So far it's just been handholding and hugging, but there's still plot to do! She's not quite as pretty as Eva Kaayz IMO, but she's growing on me and there is definitely something :DDDD in me at having canon PC/NPC F/F – especially after a very heterosexual main game. Her two messages were very nice, too. Waiting the whole game ... well, I hesitate to say that it was worth it, but now that I'm here, it's fun.
In general, with the expansions, I like how they start with the player character interacting with various companions/doing stuff! The start for Makeb was the Sithquisitor doing Sith Archaeology(TM) and electrocuting some ancient artefacts before being rudely interrupted, and the start for the Shadow of Revan was the Sithquisitor teaching Ashara Sith Force things. These things are neat!
I'm currently in the Shadow of Revan expansion, on Rishi, about to go to the slave camp. Lana gave me a set of robes with mod slots in them and a cape! I am very happy with my cape. I'll have to dye it black sometime, even if the green is okay for now. (This'll involve some reputation grind, as the various black + red combos are locked behind reputation in Oricon, Yavin, and Section X. At least the dailies don't necessarily take that long to do?) (Note to self: black + blue comes from CZ-198, Rishi, or the Voss. Do that also.) I think I'll roll a Jedi Knight for my next character, as that story was recommended to me as well, but I'm definitely finishing up SoR first. I hear the next expansion after this, Knights of the Fallen Empire, will be a bit of a story pacing change and I'll lose my current crop of companions, so I think I'll try and finish up Oricon and CZ-198 stuff with my Sithquisitor first.
(My personal form of madness includes making lots of todo lists, including planning the order I'm going to do the class stories in: alternating Imperial and Republic, Inquisitor - Knight - Warrior - ??? - Imp Agent - ??? - Bounty Hunter - ???. Assuming that I don't want to play equivalent classes twice in a row other than Knight - Warrior, I think the ???s would be in the order of Trooper - Consular - Smuggler. And since the Agent and Smuggler have the most single-planet flings, I will be choosing each and every flirt option with them. Come to think, maybe I should play the Agent before the Warrior... Ah well. Let's see how I'm feeling when I get to that point.)
