In the manner of this expansion set, as soon as I finished KotFE, KotET auto-started. Joy. KotET status: midway through Nathema/chapter 7. Only 2.5 more to go!
My general complains remain the same – I'd really appreciate it if I got to press Play myself instead of being auto-dumped into the next chapter the moment I'm done with one, it would be nice if I got to walk to the shuttle and press the door to travel instead of being auto-tossed in once I got the quest, etc – but: the end is in sight. It feels like I've been portaled into a completely different video game. Maybe I can get back to SWTOR soon? I liked SWTOR. I don't like KotFE/KotET. (Okay, maybe the the second half of KotET can stay after major revisions.)
More specifically, I really wish that the KotFE kill options would've stuck (for Arcann especially – fuck him and his plot armor), and the return to Dromund Kaas was :/ because while Acina was great, what I really wanted to do was kneel to my new Empress and reclaim my position on the Dark Council. Fuck this Outlander shit, I'm a Sith patriot! This could've even been done ingame by having Acina accept this but say that for political reasons it would be better if no-one knew or whatever.
KotET best bits:

Nathema: sort of Ziost-like in feelings? Would enjoy as a daily area and also a stronghold.
Kill count so far: Senya, Saresh, Arcann, Koth (Koth I suppose I could've just punched, but I can't really bring myself to regret killing)
Left alive: SCORPIO (promised to help defeat Vaylin, helped with ARIES, pressed the slave sympathy buttons: check)
Future kill count: Vaylin, Valkorion. I will take every murder option for them the game throws at me. Maybe one of them will stick. Alas, Arcann approached Kai Leng levels of plot armor. Kudos to Thexan for being already dead and thus not being around to infuriate me.

This is from attempt #4, which was not even the attempt that stuck.
Oh yeah, and then there was Minister what's-his-face who sold me and Acina out to Saresh and the GenoHaradan. Murdering him together with Acina was an excellent team-building exercise!

I'm also developing mildly positive feelings for Torian, despite Mandalorians being 100% overrated IMO, and I liked Aric and Vette well enough. Given the prevalence of companions from other people's class stories turning up, I suspect this would all land much differently had I gone through them all, but, eh.
My general thoughts on the expansions are that the sheer levels of rage and frustration induced are really great for getting into the Sith mindset. If I were Force sensitive, I'd probably have fried all the electronics in the house seven times over. Still not into the direction they've taken the general political situation, even if Acina was cool. I haven't played enough Republic characters to know whether Saresh going corrupt was at all warranted, but I wasn't into the Palpatine regurgitation. Or the excursion into the forest with Satele Shan and Darth Marr being pals and telling me to construct a new, lower-than-my-max-level lightsaber. Mostly I want to press Undo on this whole expansion and pretend it never happened. The nice bits at the end of KotET are just not worth the slogfest that is KotFE, and should've been a more regular combo of flashpoints and regular quests instead – a mysterious force from the Unknown Regions is building an army to attack [your side]! Go infiltrate a ship to recover intel (flashpoint). Intel points to Iokath as a source for their ships, go help SCORPIO give the droids free will (flashpoint). Then Vaylin's ball can be either a story mission or a puzzle flashpoint, and Nathema can be as is so far, but with regular quest structure rather than this chapter bullshit. Have the conclusion be some sort of flashpoint as well. Skip all the Valkorion family drama crap and keep the highlights!

Me IRL.
Given how little I have left (2-3 hours?) I might even do the rest of KotET on Monday just so I'm done with it. Then I need to detox by putting Kurebir through chapter two of her story.

KotET best bits:
- Kill choices that actually fucking stick. Why give me the choice to kill Arcann at the end of KotFE if it doesn't matter and he lives anyway???
- Iokath. Iokath was cool, both as a concept and in execution. The droid sentience stuff and the planet's backstory were nice, not only because it was not about Zakuul or Valkorion's family issues. If only I'd been able to run around there with Talos doing Video Game Archaeology, sigh... (I've seen criticism that it felt like it was from a different expansion. Perhaps, but it was from a different, better expansion.)
- Clearing out wildlife in a Sith tomb with Darth Acina. We had a very nice nostalgia trip!
- Vaylin's murder party and the traipsing around in Knight disguise
- Nathema's got a really cool mood!
