Chapter 1: Taris, Nar Shaddaa, Tatooine, Alderaan. Screencaps.
Chapter 1's plot is that Risha, someone Skavak the ship-thief hired, is now running with us due to being on our ship when we stole it back. We're getting McGuffins from each of four planets so that we can go access the reliquary of Nok Drayen, full of riches! Too bad Skavak wants it too.

As I mentioned in my earlier post, it felt like the prologue was the complete story – the Smuggler's ship gets stolen, the Smuggler steals it back – so this ends up feeling like something inspired by financial motives, where the original story was so wildly popular the creators were pressured into making a sequel that might not make sense. Chapter 1 had a definite sense of being a sequel that jumped the shark. (Chapter 2, based on Balmorra, continues even more along those veins.)

I also switched things up to go from a Dark Side playthrough to a "which of these options looks the funniest" playthrough, and ... did not spot any big difference. Most of the time, the dialogue wheel summary was funnier than the line Misrata ended up uttering. There was one line I identified as a quip solely due to being on the lookout for quips, but that's about it. All the stuff about the Smuggler is So Funny is just one big piece of false marketing so far. I guess I'll watch a compilation of the funniest moments after I'm done with the story and see if I managed to miss all the funny bits or whether it's all just unfunny.

The conclusion of chapter 1 – Skavak stowing away on my ship and trying to kill me to get the riches – was okay enough, even if I didn't get to fire Corso like I threatened.
Two new companions! 3 found, 2 to go. I gotZaalbar Bowdaar on Nar Shaddaa and Risha became a summonable combat companion after Alderaan.
Bowdaar: The requisite Wookiee, because of course the Smuggler must be a Han Solo ripoff. Much better than Corso, but lbr, that bar is in the mantle of the earth. Misrata rescued him from slavery; let's see if all of his companion dialogue will be "slavery sucks" or if other topics will be introduced.

Risha: Being spoiled on the whole princess of Dubrillion thing, it wasn't that hard to figure out that she was Nok Drayen's daughter. Again, better than Corso, but: not hard. I think she's supposed to be the DS-ish cunning companion all for the profits, but honestly, I think Kaliyo would be a better fit for a DS Smuggler.
