In between my various other commitments, I've started plinking at a WIP. It's currently ~3k long and its projected length is Epic Fixit, part 1 of 3 – it's a Revenge of the Sith canon divergence AU, and there is a fuckton to fix, as you might imagine. Here's the start of the second scene:

Anakin woke with a jolt and rolled to the side to dodge the incoming blow. He bounded off the cold ground and called his lightsaber to his hand to face-

Nothing at all. The Council Chambers were empty save for Anakin himself and a screaming in the Force.

He took a deep breath and turned off his lightsaber. Had he truly fallen asleep on the Council Chambers' floor? Given how little he'd slept in the past weeks, not too far out of the realm of possibility, but still a bit surprising. He rubbed his face with his flesh hand and reached out to the Force to figure out what had woken him.

RUN, the Force screamed.

"Where?" Anakin asked the air. "Why?"

Wait, the Chancellor was a Sith Lord. Could he have instituted some dead man's switch on a bomb beneath the Temple? Did anyone go there often enough to check for ordnance? Or was it in some decaying shack next to the Temple's lower bounds?

Regardless of location, the Force's directive was clear. Anakin pulled out his comm and punched in Cin Drallig's frequency.

Also, "there is a fuckton to fix, as you might imagine" about Revenge of the Sith - oh, lol, IS THERE.

The point of canon divergence is fixing Anakin's sleepless state by having him take an unscheduled nap! I'm fixing all the things! (Though it will get worse before it gets better. Longfic, etc.)

...does he take a nap instead of gazing conflictedly toward Padmé's appartment and then going to save Palps? That's hilarious. (And also surprisingly effective! More people should get better sleep in the Prequels, maybe they'd make less stupid decisions. *nods sagely*)

Yes. Yes he does. He is just so tired from all those nightmares, too tired to gaze conflictedly at anything when he could be taking a nap on the horizontal floor. And yes, more people should get better sleep and make better decisions.
