The final class story in my quest to do them all! For this one, I went for another human, as they have some nice class-specific tattoo/face paint options. Zahadd Dume is also named as a Babylon 5 reference with a nod to Kanan Jarrus/Caleb Dume from Rebels.

I went in with rock bottom expectations ("I guess we hunt some bounties and also rah rah Mandalorians because the devs are fanboys") and was pleasantly surprised. It's still nowhere near my favorite story, but I think it's better than the Knight. (There will be a comprehensive rankings post once I'm done with all.) It starts strong by actually having a pre-set motivation for your character: winning the Great Hunt, in which hunters go after bounties, two each, and the one who gets the bounty wins and the one who doesn't is eliminated and perhaps also killed, depending on the winner's whims. The starter planet consists of getting enough prestige to get the local Hutt to sponsor you into the Hunt, and chapter 1 is the Hunt. The villain for the chapter is Tarro Blood, unethical Mandalorian who's out to win the Great Hunt by cheating. He murders most of your support structure right at the start, leaving you only with your first companion, Mako.

Of course, then we get into the actual Hunt, and it's all just bounty hunting. The three bounties on Dromund Kaas that are proof of entry, so to speak, all have a capture/carbon-freeze option and a kill option, and no competing bounty hunter. They were a bit eh, but one of them had some nice dialogue and another involved a Republic prisoner who had been rescued from a labor camp by a Sith girlfriend who was passing him off as her brother. Many incest jokes were made, because really?

Getting a carbonizer ray.

This was followed by Collect These Bounties Four. I appreciate that they tried to make the situations of each bounty a bit different – on Nar Shaddaa, you can decide whether to kill or hand the guy over to the Hutts; on Tatooine you're forced to let the guy live and present a duplicate as his corpse, on Alderaan the bounty's already dead – and the competitor as well (on Tatooine he'd been paid off by the bounty to kill us), but tbh it was pretty straightforward bounty hunting/video game questing. The memorable bits were sodding off to deal with unrelated stuff, like the various people going all "don't let Tarro Blood defile the sanctity of the Great Hunt!" or the interlude where someone leaked a list of bounties and tried to auction it.

This one's from Balmorra.

Chapeter 1 ends with the player character crowned Grand Champion of the Great Hunt and Tarro Blood dead, as you'd expect.

Also on Alderaan you get to be a Baroness. I took this, and headcanon that my Consular is the oops kid of Zahadd and the playboy Alderaani Baron Zahadd supported in the succession struggle.

Moral-wise, Zahadd is ... I started out aiming for DS, and she'll happily kill people without remorse, but she generally does exactly what the contract says. If you want more corpses, you gotta pay extra. Currently she's neutral solely because the first comp, Mako, is a bit of a do-gooder and I succumb to the urge to please her occasionally.

Companions so far:
Mako is the one you get on Hutta. She's the love interest for male Bounty Hunters, and like 7 out of 11 base game love interests for male PCs, she is the PC's spunky sorta-apprentice. (Some of the LIs are spunky apprentices, some mostly-spunky apprentices, some spunky sorta-apprentices, and then there's Kaliyo, Elara, Risha, and Akaavi.) Remarkably light sided for someone who voluntarily went into bounty hunting. She likes stuff like mercy and being nice to people. Her companion plotline seems to be about discovering her origins, since she's an orphan who was taken in by one of the guys Tarro Blood had killed on Hutta. There seems to be something going on with the Republic intelligence service in there as well? IDK. She's solidly in the okay, but not interesting category.

Gault you get on Tatooine. As mentioned above, he's the bounty – Tyresius Lokai swindled half the galaxy out of its credits and now all the Hutt Cartel and more are after him. So Gault decided he'd fake his death and join us. There's no option to reject him, but the way it happened was less bad than I thought. I haven't been taking him anywhere really, but from his shipboard conversations and his KotFE appearances witnessed on other characters, he's a nice enough loveable rogue. I suspect he'd get along better with a full DS BH than Mako would.
