I participated in battleshipex when it ran ... a month ago, now? and I really liked the experience. I'll be adjusting my sign-up details for next year (and duplicating my prompt meme requests of "Gimme ALL your Wei Wuxian gen and rarepairs! Seriously. If you have ever wanted to write a deranged Wei Wuxian/Yu Ziyuan fic where WWX is hot for teacher and YZY decides to go for it to fuck over her husband? Wei Wuxian seducing Wen Zhuliu in a bonkers bid to take down the Wen sect? This is your request." and "This is my Rey gen & femslash request! Give me all of it. Rey shipped with any female character that appears onscreen, from Leia to Jannah, Rey isekai'ing into Starship Troopers, random Force bullshit – give it to me.") since I think those are better fits to Battleship than the traditional letter & likes style.

Team Tower was super collaborative and the spreadsheets were amazing. I'd like to especially give a shout out to hughmikkelsen, Shadaras, peasina, and buries, for towersweeper strategy and being around when I was as well, but honestly, everyone was a joy to be around.

I also had the most hilarious experience when we were winning. We blasted through the final board in, like, two days (for which I wrote four fics) and I went to sleep at one point where we still had 9 traps to discover and several high priority squares left to burst down. So, at 23:29, I wrote the following message into Discord, joking around a bit:
okay, I'm off to bed to try and make time pass faster; good night and feel free to win the game while I'm out! 💛

Then, at 7:25, I crawled out of bed and checked chat to discover my teammates had absolutely demolished the board.
*wakes up* oo, we're snagging the final escape items?
this is the BEST breakfast, well done team!

We'd actually won at around 7:00 based on work approvals, but it was only made official at 8:31. The backread was amazing and the spirit in the room was great! We even had different people call each of the ten bazillion shots we made so people could share the joy.
