Something in the Water (SWTOR Zash/F!Inquisitor)
This song is 100% a key Sith Inquisitor song to me so the fact that there was a line about something in the water when I was writing bad decisions onsen porn was the cherry atop the cake.

Anette Olzon - Bye Bye Bye
Escape the Story of My Life (MDZS Wei Wuxian gen-ish)
While Anette, my favorite Nightwish singer*, has hopefully not had her home besieged by murderous Tarja stans or others, this therapy track fits Wei Wuxian. The story of his life is a lie as well.

* Solely because her non-Nightwish stuff is great, unlike the other two's. Nightwish is at best okay regardless of singer. No need to fight me because I am correct. And if they didn't take away my citizenship over hating coffee, they won't take it over being meh about Nightwish.

The entire Circus of Doom album is very good lyrically to mine for titles. Try also Wings of Light, Eye of the Storm, and The Road to Avalon.

Battle Beast - The Hero
Stand Up When Others Fall (TCW Anakin/Rex)
It turns out I misheard the line and she's actually singing "Someone who'll stand up when all else fall" but eh. Also the lyrics are apt for writing good guy Anakin.

Beast in Black - Crazy Mad Insane
All the Things You Hate (TCW Maul gen)
This song fits a great deal of villain characters! It's not the most Maul song (that would be Beast in Black - Die by the Blade), but it fits okay enough.

Delain - Beneath
Breathe Beneath the Waters (MDZS Wei Wuxian gen)
Starless Void of Ageless Night (Europa Report gen)
The moment I heard this song I wanted to call something Starless Void of Ageless Night. This is perhaps the sixth fic I tried it on and I was so triumphant when it fit. Also the song is very much a Revan song, though I didn't write any KOTOR and it came out after I made my Revan fanmix.

Kamelot - Veil of Elysium
Trust in the Might of a Miracle (SWPT Shmi gen)
Fun fact: this song is in 3/4 time! As most everything is 4/4, it really tripped me up the first time I tried to count beats. The song itself is a melancholy-ish tone about reincarnation/the afterlife and doesn't have anything to do with the fic or Shmi, but I do like the song.

Well, okay, I do have a half-baked vid idea for an ensemble-ish vid for it, featuring four (pairs of) characters interacting in various incarnations: the Kindheart (Shmi & Luke), the Politician (Padmé & Leia), the Chosen One (Anakin & Rey), and Ben (Obi-Wan & Kylo). Yes, the idea came purely from the "and Ben" joke.

Okay, the lyrics for the song are kind of nonsense, but I love the melody. So bouncy! :D

Nightwish is at best okay regardless of singer.

I will fight you about Floor's non-Nightwish stuff tho.

I only checked out a few things from one of her pre-Nightwish bands (I think After Forever, but it might've been the other one, can't recall), so it's possible I just clicked on Every Single Dud she's released. Glad to see another Nightwish meh-er in the wild!

I like symphonic metal and it seems like you can't take 5 steps in symphonic metal fandom without stumbling over someone speaking of Floor Jansen like the second coming of Jesus/first person to invent singing. It honestly gets exhausting.
