My favorite vid of the year
Unlike 2023, I did not have a magnum opus and love all of my children equally. Maybe Break the Chain? It's a different type of POV/narrative to the stuff I've previously done, and also it's a Leia vid and I like Leia.

Least favorite vid
Honestly idk. Maybe Northwest Passage? I think everything else inspired deeper feelings in me while I was making them, when that one is just a comparatively simple Molly character study.

Most successful vid
Northwest Passage. Festividders love giving feedback!

Vid most under-appreciated by the universe
Return to the Sea was not part of any event or con and thus did not get any comments or feedback in any form.

Most fun vid
Still Alive! >:D. I love my dumb ideas (and so does everyone else).

Video with the single sexiest moment
Until Eternity has some very cleavage-y bathing scenes. 10/10 would gaze at dem boobz again.

Hardest vid to make
Return to the Sea is constructed narrative, so I had to do the narrative work for a narrative that was not pure vibes (like Until Eternity) without being able to lean on the canon (all the other vids). Not, like, notably hard to make, though. The 2024 crop was very homogenous.

Most unintentionally telling vid
Still Alive! >:D, as it is silly and slightly bonkers, like me.

Things I've learned
Not really a big learning year, unlike 2023. Mostly music editing practice – I edited the songs in 3/5 vids. Snipping out bits from the middle for Until Eternity and Still Alive! >:D was comparatively easy. Getting Break the Chain to end nicely was not – the song has a 2 min outro in a different key and does not have a natural point to end it before that.

Also something about cut pacing. Last year I did fast cuts (Reincarnation especially); this year I did fast music with slower cuts (Northwest Passage, Break the Chain). Changes in music pacing/intensity can/should be accompanied by changes in cut pacing, but if the music stays the same pace/intensity, the cuts should stay at the same pace as well.

Vid plans for 2025
I will get a new

vid_bingo card and also disappear up my own ass. Other than that, here are my pie in the sky/longterm vid ideas that I may or may not do in 2025 but hopefully will get around to/be able to do eventually:
- a Rey Palpatine vid about rejecting legacies/(grand)daughters hating (grand)fathers. Considered Mortalitas Part IV: From Beneath You It Devours by Nemesea and Show Me the Way by Elis, but probably need a better song for this to happen. Even if I think that there would be some cool motion matches between Palps's RotS fight and Rey's TFA fight/possibly other ones too
- I will disappear up my own ass and make a vid to Centuries by Fall Out Boy, with the visual source being my very own comic Intrusion Into (...urghhh I need to redo the image hosting, eurgh) and idk screencaps/quotes from the Sandia Labs report on Expert Judgment on Markers to Deter Inadvertent Human Intrusion into the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (possibly including their rad art as well).
- back for the

vexercises 2022 round, I made a 1:04 pechakucha for SWTOR to The Wind That Shapes the Land by Unleash the Archers. I dream of making a full-length vid. All in pechakucha format (6s clips from the source). All 8:36 of song. I love pain!
- sequel to Still Alive: Want You Gone. I think Palpatine vids need to be a tradition for me at this point tbh
- at least one baihe source vid (either more short shampoo commercials or maybe I'll actually sit down and power through Couple of Mirrors – input concentration's been p shot lately)
- fight scene vid (cdrama? Star Wars?) set to some 00s dance music, possibly TiK ToK by Ke$ha or something else similarly incongruous
