Please do a read-through for discreet/discrete, rein/reign, phase/faze, and other such commonly mixed-up words.
I am okay with second person present tense and first person past tense, should the fic call for it.
Feel free to merge all things said by the singer(s) into one character – or keep them as seperate characters. I've written prompts for the former option, but they should be somewhat applicable for the latter, too.

This is an energetic/upbeat/aggressive song about, well, living in a danger zone, and I enjoy the brash energy of it.
What is the danger zone? What happened between the singer and the singee? What did the singer do to get called a hero? What kind of world to they live in? Is it a cyberpunk war zone, or something more metaphorical? Is the singer some sort of whistleblower? What does the lyric about almightiness mean? What is the countdown to zero for? What has the singer become?
The Nexus - Amaranthe (Song)
The future will be there to save us
This is an energetic song about changing a thing. I think. I like the energy and the breaking free from the past and into the future theme.
What is the Nexus? What are the secrets in the singer's mind? What is the world this is set in? How will the future save them – time travel? Why must they break with the past? Does the singer wish to be buried within the Nexus? Does ‘trapped in my skin’ refer to the singer being some sort of transhumanist? Why does the singer fear returning as ‘parted atoms’? What is the cure being talked about? Where does the voice come from? What is the voice the singer can't deny?
Transhuman - Amaranthe (Song)
I'm descended from dreams
This is a soothing song about a transhuman person. I like the subject of the lyrics and the astronomical imagery employed.
Where did the singer come from? What's the thing referred to with the lyric "Is it already over?" What do all the metaphors mean? What is the unnatural light bright in the singer's eyes? Who is the buyer? Why all the astronomy metaphors? What's going on? Is the singer a transhuman cyborg, a robot, what? Does the singer wish to become a robot? What in space is going on?
Mother Machine - Delain (Song)
My machine built the factories
This is a dark song about an industrial dystopia. I like the almost soothing refrain and the machine imagery.
What is the world like? Who is the little girl? Who is the singer? How did she get to her position of power? Why did she decide to aspire to it? Is she a villain as is implied, or something more? Is the ‘granite sky’ due to pollution, or is there some huge sky dome that everyone lives under? What are the wheels that are coming down? What's up with the ‘artificial hurt’?
Sagan - Nightwish (Song)
Son of man, dare to let go of your cowardice.
This is a soothing song about the future, and I enjoy the almost reassuring tone it has while it asks/compels us to reach higher. I also like the rocket launch sound at 2:16.
What is the unknown that is being entered? What is at the horizon? What kind of aim would we call high? Is space travel involved? Are there aliens? What's up with the bright light? Who is the singer, where from, what of? Is she a scientist? How did the singer come to her beliefs? What are the unseen streams that are mentioned?
Hunting High and Low - Stratovarius (Song)
Full of power, I'm spreading my wings
This is a joyful song about being happy and powerful. I like the happiness.
Basically, I want a happy fic about leaving worries behind. What's the journey that's being started like? What is the singer hunting for? There are a lot of wind metaphors – is the speaker perhaps an air spirit? What is the wind whispering in the singer's ears? What is the storm that's mentioned? What do the clouds and sun's rays represent? What is the game that the singer plays?
Iron - Within Temptation (Song)
You can't live without the fire
It's the heat that makes you strong
This is a powerful song about embracing one's nature. I like the unapologeticness of it.
What is the dystopia the singee lives in? What is the war that's coming? What lies within the singee? How come it's the only thing the singee knows? Does ‘the heat’ refer to stress/pressure in a more metaphorical way, or is the singee something (nonhuman?) that literally gets stronger in the heat? What is the fire? Why does the singer not want the singee to walk away? Where could the singee walk away to, anyway? What are the dreams referenced – peace, freedom, food, tentacles? What are Darkhearts? What does ‘born to live’ mean?
Paradise (What About Us?) ft. Tarja Turunen - Within Temptation (Song)
It's all we want and it's all we're fighting for
This is a song about choosing to fight for one's imperfect world. I like the defiant attitude.
What is the singer fighting against? What is the singer fighting for? Why is the world not the singer's paradise? Why is it all the singer wants? What is the wheel? Who are the ‘wise’? Are the skies blood-red literally or merely metaphorically? Who's fallen from grace, and what grace have they fallen from? Is the singer a revolutionary? A resistance fighter? What has wisdom failed in, and how? What is the singer taking a stand against? What is the fire that's burning? What is the singer's ‘role’, and why is she playing it? What's the venom being talked about?
