I have signed up for the Guardian 520 Day Reverse Exchange with what is probably the least anonymous sign-up ever. When listing the offer DNWs, I realized that the set of things I DNW for writing is much smaller than the set of things I DNW for reading. I suppose it's because while I'm writing, I'm more in control of the experience and can stay out of squickland.

Ma lai gao is easy/quick to make (the linked, easy version took me 20 mins), and delicious! Om nom nom.

While I go tinker at my WIP, icontalking has a song set challenge I'll tackle sometime. Please vote for your favorite lyrics so I can choose! The / do not signify line divisions here, but rather icon divisions – "Text goes here / and also here" means there's one icon with the text "Text goes here" and the next one has "and also here". The one with text in Finnish would also have alt versions with the text in English.

That's me too. There are things I usually DNW that I actually do like, but only in very specific ways.

Same! I took my list of receiving DNWs and then pruned off everything, because for almost all my DNWs, I'm sure I could write at least one take that wouldn't be in the least squicky for me. (Then I added a few when I pondered a bit more about offers DNWs vs requests DNWs and stuff no-one would write for me unprompted but which other people might like. All in the name of good matches!)

I think the sign-ups are either all going to be pretty obvious, or we'll all think so til we see everyone else's.

I suspect the latter, actually, apart from a few people with very unique identifying details. And even then, people from the other side of the fandom group might not be able to connect the detail to a name. At least we should be able to pick out our own and not cause the mods and inconvenient hilarity by asking ourselves to write something for us? :P

Ooh, if Amaranthe and Within Temptation have Weilan-esque music on their latest albums, I'll have to check them out! Honestly thank you for reminding me about both of those groups, I really like them but I don't follow their social media or anything, so I tend to miss if they've released new content.

Anything is weilan if you squint at it enough! *g* There are a few songs that I think would qualify, as well as what is obviously a Ye Zun song. Hard same on not being that up with bands' social media - on the one hand, I'm chronically late to everything; on the other, whenever I check, I often get two+ albums to check out between all the artists I enjoy. (Delain has also put out an EP, and while Art Kills isn't Guardian-y, it's very nice!) The new Amaranthe and Within Temptation albums were also very hit and little miss, songwise.

...actually, I should probably check to see if any of the *other* artists I follow have put out new albums...

Ah, the (dubious) benefits of being super into something - you can make pretty much anything relate back to your interest if you try!

Sometimes being chronically late has its benefits! Lots of new content when you remember to check for it!
