More seriously, I guess I've never really had trouble resisting any tropes – I've always had enough willpower to contain my urges, and a lot of tropes are ones that don't really tickle my id. (My id is tickled by worldbuilding and exposition, which aren't really tropes present in a lot of fandom. I imagine if it were more tickled by, say, romantic stuff, the tropes would be more appealing.)
